Teigan's 5th

Well my baby girl is no longer a baby.  It's official.  She starts school in the fall and her days of staying at home with me are gone.  She. is. FIVE!!  Where has the time gone?!  Seriously.  I still think of her as my cute little 3 year old.  Its really hard to grasp the idea that she's growing up.  I don't want her to, she needs to stay at home with me for at least another year.  Just one more!

She wanted a Strawberry Shortcake party but since strawberries aren't in season we brainstormed for something that would capture the essence of Strawberry Shortcake...and the Garden Tea Party was born!  It turned out so cute!  I decided that a vintage inspired cake would fit the theme perfectly and T loved the flowers all over it!  I made lanterns from clear plastic cup and wrapped them in scrap fabric.  Then just poked holes in the bottoms and attached them to some lights and strung them across the room.  She had "tea" (pink lemonade) served along with scrumptious pink lemonade cupcakes!  Yummy!

Then all the girls got makeovers!  Eye shadow, nail polish, lipstick, hair accessories, it was like they all died and went to heaven!  The room was a buzz with giggles and laughing.  And when the fun was all over, they went home with bubbles, nail polish, rings and a piece of rock candy.  It was such a fun afternoon!  Teigan loved it all so much and loved being able to be a girl with all her friends and family!

Since turning 5 (a whole week ago haha) Teigan has all of the sudden started growing up!  She decided that she's now old enough to change Sawyer's diapers, which by the way she's really good at!  She helps clean the  bathrooms and loves to dust.  But her favorite thing to do is play in her room with her vanity set and makeup. She'll spend hours in there painting and repainting her nails, fixing her hair, and doing her makeup...and Sawyer's too.

We love you Teigan!  We are so glad that you are a part of our family!  You are such a fun little big girl to have around!  Happy Birthday Teigan!!!
